Broward County Clerk of Courts
Hollywood does not have its own court clerk. All court records for Hollywood go through the Broward County Clerk of Courts. The main office sits in Fort Lauderdale, about 10 miles north of Hollywood. The clerk runs circuit and county court operations for every city in Broward County.
The office is at 540 SE 3rd Ave., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. You can reach them at (954) 831-7283. They handle all civil, criminal, family, probate, and traffic records. It does not matter if the incident happened in Hollywood. The case still goes through the Broward County court system.
Under Florida Statute Chapter 119, court records are public in Florida. Anyone can view them. The clerk must allow access unless the record is sealed by a judge or made confidential by law. Hollywood cases follow the same rules as every other case in the county.
The Broward County Clerk's site gives Hollywood residents access to case search tools, filing info, and records request options.
From the homepage you can reach the case search portal, e-filing, traffic tickets, jury service info, and more. Hollywood residents can do most of this from a phone or computer without going to Fort Lauderdale.

Searching Hollywood Court Records Online
Use the Broward County Case Search to find court records for Hollywood. The portal is called Web2. You can search by name, case number, or date. It pulls results from civil, criminal, family, and traffic divisions.
No fee to search. You do not need to create an account for basic lookups. The portal shows party names, case status, hearing dates, and docket info. Hollywood cases appear the same way as any other Broward County case in the system.
The Web2 search tool covers all court divisions and lets Hollywood residents look up records across the 17th Judicial Circuit.
If your name search returns too many results, try adding a middle name. You can also narrow by date range or case type. The system runs around the clock, so Hollywood residents can search at any time. For document images, you may need to register or visit the clerk in person.
Florida Statute 119.0714 tells the clerk to strip out sensitive data like social security numbers from public records. This is done by default. You do not need to file a request for this. Sealed and confidential cases will not show up in search results for Hollywood or any other Broward County city.
Criminal Court Records in Hollywood
If someone is arrested in Hollywood, the case goes into the Broward County court system. Felonies are heard at the circuit court level. Misdemeanors go through county court. The clerk stores all of these records.
You can look up criminal cases through the Web2 portal. Booking records and jail info come from the Broward Sheriff's Office, not the clerk. Hollywood has its own police department, but once charges are filed, the courts take over. The records land with the Broward County Clerk.
Under Florida Rule of Judicial Administration 2.420, criminal court records are open to the public. Sealed records are the exception. Juvenile cases have separate rules and do not show up in the standard public search. If you need a statewide background check, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement runs that service.
Civil and Family Cases
Civil cases in Hollywood cover lawsuits, foreclosures, evictions, and small claims. Circuit court takes cases over $50,000. County court handles small claims up to $8,000. Both types are searchable through the same portal.
Family court records for Hollywood include divorce, child custody, paternity, and domestic violence filings. Some family records have added privacy protections. The Broward Clerk Family Division page has details on family case types and procedures.
Hollywood residents must use the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal to file most documents. The portal is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Court fees apply. Credit card charges add about 3.95% on top. E-filing is required now for most case types in Florida, not just optional.
Copies and Other Resources
Certified copies of court records cost $1 per page. Request them at the clerk's office or through the online records request page. A case number makes the process faster. The staff can look things up by name too, but it takes longer when the county has this many records.
For property records and recorded documents, the Broward County Official Records Search is a separate tool. It handles deeds, liens, and other recorded instruments for Hollywood and all of Broward County.
The Florida Court Clerks & Comptrollers site links all 67 county clerks. You can pay traffic fines or check jury duty from there. Florida Courts Help has free forms and guides. MyFloridaCounty.com lets you pay court fees online and get a receipt right away.
Under Supreme Court Administrative Order AOSC 16-14, the clerk may publish court documents online. Not all records are posted. Some still need an in-person visit. The Broward County page has more details about court services for Hollywood and other cities in the county.
